Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bins can you clean? What about recycling bins?
We can clean all external garbage cans and also the smaller recycling totes. The service plans include up to 2 bins which can either be regular trash bins or recycling bins. If you have more that’s ok, just select the number of additional pieces you would like us to clean which are charged at $5 per addition.
When will my service be scheduled for?
Your service will be scheduled the day after your main trash and recycling pick up as the bins need to be empty for service.
Our HOA rules say we can’t leave the bins out?
This really isn’t something to worry about, most of our customers live with HOA restrictions and once they realize that they are out once a month, or once a quarter for a few extra hours because you are having them cleaned they have thus far never caused an issue – remember you are doing the right thing cleaning up your community, as we are one bin at a time! In fact, we are so confident that you will not receive a violation notice, if you do, send it to us and we will pay it and use it as an opportunity to speak with your HOA to prevent future occurances.
Do I have to sign a long term contract?
Absolutely not! We are sure once you have tried Germzie you will not want to stop but if for any reason you want to cancel simply send us an email or give us a call. Notice is required so please see notice requirements below.
Do my bins need to be empty?
Yes, we do not collect garbage so all bins must be empty, this is why we schedule service for the day after trash and recycling pick up.
Where do I leave my bins on the day of service?
Ideally your bins need to be left out curbside so they are easily accessible to the Germzie operator. If this is not possible, as long as we can clearly see them we will pull them too our truck for service.
How will I remember to leave my bins out on the correct day?
Don’t worry, you will receive a reminder email and text message before your scheduled service and a notification after your service is complete.
If I forget to leave the bins out on the service day will you reschedule the service day?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of business and route scheduling in different communities we are unable to reschedule service days and a $10 trip charge will be applied if we arrive and the bins are not available. Bins must be left outside and be empty for service to be completed.
How will I know my bins have been cleaned?
In addition to your bins looking clean you will also receive a message after your service has been completed.
How does payment and billing work?
Once you sign up, your credit or debit card details will be stored for automatic payment through our secure system following service. Alternatively you can pay after each service online. Unfortunately, we cannot accept payment by cash or check.
Can I change the bins cleaned each time?
Unfortunately not, once the plan is setup the bins will be marked and we will service the same bins on each visit unless you add additional bins to your service plan.
Do you offer a referral incentive?
Yes we do! Simply ask the person you referred to add your full name into the coupon box when they sign up and then you will receive a free bin cleaning service – UNLIMITED!
How do I update my payment details or access my account?
You can access your own secure personal profile by clicking on the ‘customer login’ link at the bottom of each page on our website. Alternatively give us a call!
My bin wasn’t ‘like new’ after service, why?
Some bins are extremely dirty! We will do our absolute best but it can take multiple cleans to fully remove years of, or heavy duty residue from bins that haven’t previously been cleaned.
How do I cancel service?
If for any reason you want to cancel simply send us an email or give us a call. Notice is required so please see notice requirements below.
What notice is required to stop service?
If you would like to cancel service, a minimum service must be reached which is 3 cleanings. There is no notice to cancel after a ‘one time clean’.
